YL International 2012 Meet in Adelaide, Australia

We have had to change the Ghan Trip at the last minute. Great Southern Railway (the Ghan train operator) has let me know that all Wednesday trains have been cancelled including our trip from Adelaide to Alice Springs. Unfortunately our overnight train ride is off. We will still be able to do the Alice Springs to Darwin on the train with a stop at Katherine Gorge and everything else.

At the moment, the plan is to fly to Alice Springs on the morning of the 9th of May and have an extra day and night in Alice Springs with a bush dinner under the stars. The cost of the trip will come down.

Meet dates are May 3 to 9, 2012.

Check out their website for the details.
Plans are final and available on the web at

I will keep you informed. If these changes mean you no longer wish to do the Ghan trip, you will get a full refund of the deposits paid etc.

Thankfully, everything else seem to be falling into place with 45 YLs and 25 othes registered for the Meet. If you are going to be joining us, it is time to register. I have to close registrations by the end of February

Prices have been finalized now as well. Tina tells me there are 42 YLs going and bringing 24 others. Of that group, 23 are taking the Ghan Luxury Train trip. If you want to take the train, the deadline for it is fast approaching, so contact Tina now.
An additional 22 others are thinking about going. Tina also said: “The Australian dollar is a little weaker against the international money which might help you to decide to go.”

Please remember that visitors to Australia need a Visa. Check with your travel agent or go to the links on FAQ pages at the website for more information.
